CATHOLIC CHARITY FUND APPEAL
The 2021 Catholic Charity Appeal collection at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha will be on the weekend of April 18 and 25. To date as many as 15 parishioners have given $3,746 to the Appeal. For that we are grateful.
CORONA VIRUS
Sister Antoinette, RJM and Monsignor Gerry Sabourin will be given their first vaccination at the Coventry Town Hall Annex on this coming Wednesday.
GOSPEL
Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain and was transfigured before them. Then Peter said to Jesus. “Rabbi, it is good that we are here! He hardly knew what to say, they were so terrified. Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them; from the cloud came a voice, “This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”
PARISH LIFE
Catholic Relief Society Rice Bowls were distributed to the parishioners last Saturday/Sunday. On Palm Sunday they will be collected. CRS Rice Bowl is Catholic Relief Services’ Lenten faith-in-action program for families and faith communities. The program invites Catholics to live in solidarity with our poorest and most vulnerable brothers and sisters through the three Lenten pillars of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. Marty and Clare are our two best Rice Bowl people.
LENTEN ROCKS
Together with the Rice Bowls, the St. Kateri Lenten Rocks were also distributed last week end as reminders of our hard hearts during the forty days of Lent. On Palm Sunday they will be collected.
SAINT JOSEPH
The work around the area of St Joseph this past week was put to a halt due to the extreme cold weather. However, lights were bought by Mary Beth at Home Depot and made ready for the lighting of Joseph.
PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
After the homily and before the beginning of the Mass at St. Kateri we pray for all those celebrating a birthday, a wedding anniversary and for all those departed. Past years Sister Antoinette has taken it on her own to update the three lists of names and dates. A surmountable task. Sister Antoinette will no longer have to do this, thanks to Nicole who will take over the updating of the lists,. Praise God.
